'Artie Beat's Picnic' Book based Reading Game

This game is based on the British Heart foundation story. The students each have a base board and a set of food. Provide them with a die with each food item written on each side (carrot; banana; yogurt; bread; water and egg). Children roll the die and then select that food item to place in the basket. The winner is the first students to pack Artie’s basket. This can be easily adapted to other stories like The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
