About This Lesson

Neurodivergent students include those with autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or other differences with regard to brain functioning. However, all neurodivergent students are not eligible to receive specialized instruction per the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Students determined to have a disability as defined by IDEA are provided with an individualized education program (IEP) that includes a section on assistive technology (AT) and the use of specific interventions/resources/strategies to facilitate student progress and attainment of annual goals in a student’s respective areas of identified needs. Consideration regarding the use of AI tools and services benefit both populations of students as well as their educational and specialized instructional support personnel providers. Find out more about the connection between artificial intelligence and assistive technology; and AI tools for students and educators.
