Join us as we explore Facing History’s Back-to-School Toolkit. This new resource is designed to help social studies teachers establish a reflective and courageous classroom community where students learn to exchange ideas and listen respectfully to each other. The toolkit is designed for U.S. history classrooms but can easily be adapted for other history/social studies courses.

During this webinar, we will:

  • Consider the role that teacher mindset plays in developing a reflective and courageous classroom community from the beginning of the school year
  • Discuss Facing History’s unique approach that incorporates not only historical knowledge but also the social-emotional, ethical reasoning, and civic reasoning skills that are essential for a more humane and informed citizenry
  • Explore the social-emotional learning competencies and pedagogical moves that are the foundation of the lessons in the Facing History Back-to-School Toolkit
