About This Lesson
Reading is one of the most powerful ways to model inclusion and nurture empathy. Welcoming Schools created the Book of the Month series to foster compassionate dialogue and elevate joyful stories of authentic LGBTQ+ lives, building monthly engagement and momentum leading up to our National Day of Reading each February.
This month, we're reading Wonderfully You: An Ode to Adoption by Tom Tracy. Two dads dream of growing their family. They fill out forms, prepare a room, and wait for the day when a child might join them. Then, an unexpected phone call sends them on an overnight journey to meet their new baby and her birth mother. Wonderfully You: An Ode to Adoption celebrates adoption, family, and the love that connects us.
