About This Lesson
Help students explore honesty, trust, and consequences with a free reader’s theater adaptation of Aesop’s The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Students rehearse and perform an approximately 750-word script across eight scenes, then discuss why the villagers stop believing the shepherd boy. Designed for Grades 2–5, the resource supports oral reading fluency, expressive reading, identifying the moral of a fable, character analysis, and comprehension. The product includes a reader’s theater script with five speaking roles (with an optional non-speaking wolf), teacher guidance, vocabulary and comprehension questions, challenge prompts, and a quiz option. Use it for small-group reading, literacy centers, a classroom performance, or a one-period lesson. Free from Reader’s Theater Worksheets.
