This plan is about career readiness. It is to motivate, inform, and inspire young people to start thinking more about their future. It is so young people can think beyond their local surroundings and consider careers and schools they might not have. The first third of the plan is based on having students learn about employment parameters. Salary, future prospects, commuting, vacation time, benefits, promotions, education, etc. All with the impetus that students learn what is important to them then choose a career important to them. The second third and by extension final third are on presentation. Time is dedicated to the practice of these skills. Most people, especially young people do not want to present. The choice of theme and relevance to the students is meant to engender them to want to present and to want to hear their peers presentations. The presentation days are meant to be small celebrations of the students work. The aspect of the project I would most look forward to is when students ask other students about why they made their choices. I hope your students enjoy this project.
