About This Lesson
2015 marks the culmination of the 150th Anniversary of The Civil War. The Mutter Museum of Philadelphia is inviting teachers to take advantage of 10 downloadable lessons focused on various aspects of health during the Civil War. Each lesson, designed for 11th and 12th graders, follows a common format featuring learning objectives, time required, key words, background, recommended websites, and Pennsylvania Education Standards. By sharing these lessons, we hope to stimulate more interest in the medical history of The Civil War and the lifelong impact it had on the field of medicine.
