Focus: Students are introduced to early exploration of the American West and learn about key figures such as Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, and Sacagawea. They learn how colonists spread westward, including their struggles and successes and their interactions with native peoples.

Number of Lessons: 11

Lesson Time: 60 minutes each. Each lesson may be divided into shorter segments.
