About This Lesson

On September 20, 2019, young people and adults will go on strike across the US and the world to demand transformative action to address the climate crisis. As an educator, you have a unique opportunity to support your students in taking action on this historic day. ACE has developed an activity, Climate Strike and Art Activism: Create Your Story, in which students created a “Story in Six Words” and accompanying poster in support of the climate strike. We invite you to #strikewithus.

This activity is paired with a youth climate story, Art Activism in Wisconsin about a young woman, Yamile Salgado, who uses her art as a powerful tool in her climate justice work.

ACE’s online climate education resource, Our Climate Our Future, is a free collection of videos and lesson plans on climate science, climate justice and climate solutions targeted to middle and high schools. Learn more at www.ourclimateourfuture.org.
