How can we apply the lessons of the film Schindler's List toward standing up to hatred in our own communities? How do you engage students in conversations around racism, antisemitism and other forms of hatred?

Join AFT President Randi Weingarten, Laura Tavares with Facing History and Ourselves, and the National Council for the Social Studies for a conversation with Steven Spielberg, the Oscar-winning director of Schindler’s List. To commemorate the 25th anniversary and re-release of the film, Mr. Spielberg will discuss the legacy of Schindler’s List, its impact on Holocaust education, and the importance of responding to hatred in our communities today.
During this free webinar, we will also share:
  • Reflections from Schindler’s list survivor Rena Finder
  • Effective strategies to prepare students to be thoughtful, emotionally engaged viewers of the film
  • Lesson ideas to connect this historical moment to contemporary events

Good to know that
Good to know that intelligence, caring, compassion, and empathy still exist in our society. Let us all reflect these values.

Thank you for the opportunity
Thank you for the opportunity to attend this webinar. It was very informative and the resources are plenty. It was a pleasure to hear Mr. Spielberg talk to us and give insight to the film. It was nice to be validated by him in regards to our efforts as educators to fulfill the responsibility to educate this generation on a topic that is so sensitive.
