About This Lesson
To help students understand the seasons, earth's rotation, and weather; activity takes photos of different places during different seasons, and students need to match the photo with a card that has the country name and the month of the year. Students are given a notes card, with prompts to find the country on the map, identify the hemisphere, identify what season it would be during that month, and then to consider what weather to expect in that season.
Activity was done on Powerpoint, to be printed as 2 slides per page, then cut into cards. There are 8 countries/months, 8 photos, and 8 country notes cards. The first slide is a copy of the game instructions, taken from the main lesson plan's powerpoint slide. Don't print the first slide, to save paper.
Activity is a follow up after learning about weather conditions, and what causes weather. I'm teaching from the Oxford Geography 2 textbook, 4th edition, chapter 5 (Weather and Climate). I teach at an international school in Laos, so I was unable to pick a curriculum from the sharemylesson.com options.
