About This Lesson
Guide your students through a fun journey of self-regulation! In this expert-designed lesson, students learn how to identify and name their emotions, ways to control their feelings, and how to identify the feelings of others. Students are introduced to self-regulation via a letter from Leo the Hedgehog. Then, students examine how self-regulation is modeled in our story The Peekapak Pals and the Classroom Chaos.

Self-regulation is a skill that helps students manage their behaviors and express emotions in constructive ways. This happens when students are aware of their feelings, able to articulate them (e.g., “I am feeling sad because...“), and can make decisions about how to respond to stimulation.
