Development of Writing Lesson and Project

In this lesson, students examine the ancient Mesopotamian written language of Cuneiform and examine the development of writing from early pictographs to written language. Students evaluate the reasons for the development of writing. In the Alphabet Development project, students extend this knowledge by creating posters in groups showcasing their own original written languages.
