About This Lesson

A selection of pictures of different planet surfaces. I’m using it in drama/literacy helping the children to imagine landing on a mystery planet and describing what they see.

What great pictures - I'm starting to plan my topic on Space - never thought I could include Geography so well. Great for the malleables tray, as well as small world area. Thanks so much xx

Brilliant!! Have made a large rocket that has crash landed in the school grounds. These pictures will be great for ideas on a mystery planet and if the rocket came from there. Thanks.

I used these in drama classes with disabled and special needs kids (i.e. classes included kids with limited or no mobility.) With the elementary school ages we picked a picture and then "flew" there in our space ship and explored the surrounding - experienced different environments and met the alien life forms there (played by puppets). With the middle/high school kids we played the "NASA" game - teams of astronauts had returned to earth after searching around the galaxy for other habitable planets we could move to - in their groups they spontaneously improvised ("yes...and") their reports on what they had discovered. Thanks for the great inspiration these pictures provided!

A great idea with a lot of

A great idea with a lot of potential use in many different fields of English. I'll be using this for a creative writing assignment where the pictures will work perfectly.
