This is the third of four lessons from the unit "Addition and Subtraction Strategies." Review with students that a doubles fact is a number sentence that repeats the same addend, such as 3 + 3 = 6 or 8 + 8 = 16. Using connecting cubes, provide students opportunities to practice combining groups with the same number. Begin this lesson by reading the book, Two of Everything by Lily Toy Hong. Aligned to Common Core State Standard: 2.OA.2
