To draw elevation drawings of 3D shapes students are taught to align the front, plan and side views of cuboids and various prisms. As learning progresses they are challenged to reconstruct the solid from the 2D representations.

The lesson begins by comparing the dimensions of three simple cuboids by placing them in ascending order.

The plenary challenges students to sketch a solid from its elevation drawings.
