Environmental Science 101 Unit Plan

About This Lesson

A unit plan with current (as of 2020) standards related to science, social studies, SDAIE (English Language Learner Supports), and authentic assessment.  Adapted from a lesson developed by Brooke Zanatelle for Cornell Science Inquiry Partnerships, with two additional followup days added to her World Human Consumption forum activities with student research, multi-media scaffolding, and a final project based learning assignment where students apply the results of their research to their own lives and families for three weeks and report their successes and challenges back to the class in a summative differentiated assessment.

If you wanted to make it a day or two longer, I would recommend having the students themselves update the data for their countries from 2003 to 2020 and see if they can identify trends worth sharing.
