About This Lesson

Students will create a low relief sculpture using a variety of fabrics, hot glue and stuffing.

Students will make a pattern of a famous face (faces with distinct features are best), cutting the face into major sections. Students will use the sections as a pattern to cut pieces of fabric for stuffing and gluing onto a piece of railroad board or heavy tag board.

Students will think about what value each piece of fabric should be according to the facial features and will stuff according to how much they want each piece to protrude.

Students must have 15 or more sections. Students must use 7 or more different fabrics.

Approximate time frame for this activity is one week.
