About This Lesson
With the 30th anniversary of the conflict this task takes a look at the bombing raid on Port Stanley which was at the time the longest bombing raid ever mounted. A feat of logistics; over 1;000;000 litres of fuel were needed to get the single plane to bomb the runway. This task looks at the timing of the planes refuelling the bomber in a simplistic representation of what actually happened. Speed; distance and time are all involved - hopefully will raise students' interest in the conflict.
