About This Lesson

Students will recognize and use key vocabulary terms for figurative language concepts. They will be guided through activities to help them learn the vocabulary through choral reading, making flashcards, matching, and completing a quiz. They will then apply the terms to practice applying figurative language by recognizing the terms and writing their own examples; Last, they will analyze a poetry selection to analyze the use of figurative language. All handouts for each activity is included along with a power point for teacher instruction.
