A lab designed to get students to analyze the age of the Earth and relate that age to Geological Eras, Periods, and events in History.

Educational Timings:

  • Total Time: 180+ Minutes
  • Part 1: Analyze Materials and write Hypothesis (10 Minutes)
  • Part 2: Write-out Concept terms and discuss with Class (10 Minutes)
  • Part 3: Mathematics and Measurements in a Group (15 Minutes)
    • All students must be able to demonstrate how they got the numbers they are using
  • Part 4: Era / Period Timeline Construction - Group (45 Minutes)
  • Part 4: Events Timeline Construction - Individually (90 Minutes)
  • Part 5: Analysis Questions (Homework)
  • Part 6: Analysis Questions Discussion (10 Minutes)
  • Part 7: Conclusion (Homework)
