Gern: I usually introduce it as 'gladly' to show it is used with verbs/ activities (1:1 translations, then correct English, e.g. 'I play 'gladly' tennis' = 'I like to play tennis') AND to avoid using it with nouns (e.g 'Ich mag/ liebe/ hasse Schokolade' v 'Ich ESSE gern/ nicht gern Schokolade'.)
Big Boss Verb intends to show verb as second IDEA (no:t 2nd word) in a main sentence.
