As a result of a rapidly globalizing and changing world, students need new skills and competencies that prepare them for the 21st century. With the greater exposure to diversity, students need the skills and competencies to learn about, understand and deal with their deepest differences in order to prevent conflict and secure future peace.
These skills include communication, collaboration, problem solving, critical thinking, leadership and learning based on real world issues. These are also the skills of the future workforce. They are invaluable skills for students to learn as they prepare for college and their future careers. At the Generation Global, we have developed resources for use in classrooms all over the world to help students learn these critical communication skills – skills we call the Essentials of Dialogue.
