Fantastic Lesson Plan
I am a student teacher. I utilized this lesson plan this semester with Juniors. They had so much fun. It helped them gain more perspective about what families faced during the Great Depression.

I'm looking forward to trying
I've used this lesson for three years with my juniors and my students really enjoy it! It's always one of the most talked about activities!

Fantastic resource! I used it as a way to build prior knowledge before teaching "Bud, Not Buddy." Made a few changes to make it more middle school friendly: placed students in "families" of four and cutting out a few expenses.

Very useful! I will be using this in my classroom and really appreciate the ready-made directions and budget charts. The only thing I'll change is the requirement that pairs be boy-girl. I'll have my students be in pairs and label them "worker" and "caregiver"! Thanks for sharing this!!
