Midnight is too late for kids to ring in the new year, so one very creative girl decides to throw a NOON year’s party instead!
Kirkley and her family celebrate the New Year in the tradition of the South: green beans greens for treasure, black-eyed peas for luck, and cornbread for gold. But Kirkley is too young to stay up until midnight and join in the festivities. So she comes up with a clever plan to put her own twist on the traditions and still countdown until twelve o’clock, making the day a party for all the Berkleys.
