A fun lesson presenting the ideas of Heredity and Environment in a 71 slide show while students fill in a handout note frame over the material. Follow with a short review slide show answering a few questions orally. Day two, start with sponge 2. Then, with great fanfare announce that the class has a very important visitor today, the actual human with the best short term memory in the world. Milk it a bit while nervously watching the door. Then with gusto, ask 11 year olds in the class to stand. Announce that research has found that humans with the best short term memory are 11 year olds. Play with that for a while, then do the OBJECTS TO MEMORIZE activity. Announce no notes, put the slide on the overhead for one minute. Take it away then ask students to write down as many as they can. I'm usually surprise by how well they do. Great class discussion opportunity here. Start day 3 with the yellow HEDREDITY AND ENVIRONMENT slide show. It is a review but has form for students to fill out about themselves (you will have to download the form from the slide show and reproduce it for each student, I've lost the real one) during the show. This will take the whole period.Last day there is a test over the lesson.
