Thousands of high school students become eligible to vote every year, creating an opportunity to integrate them into American democracy. For this reason, AFT & SML is partnering with NCLR to highlight a high school curriculum to ensure that as students graduate, they are registered to cast their vote and become active citizens in our society. The curriculum includes six lessons: it starts with an overview of government and ends with ways for students to continue participating in the civic process. The curriculum can be used both in the classroom and in after-school programs.
