Kids today are more visual. The week I start the unit I show this PowerPoint each day so kids learn the vocabulary words. Great for ESL and special Education.

powerpoint should include some practice slides, especially since you are only teaching 6 words.
include a few pictures and ask students to label these. then give students lists of future topics from units and have them decide which categories they fit into. ask students to anticipate unit based on their new understanding of these words.
