About This Lesson

In the UCSD Hands On Lab, undergraduate students co-created these chemistry/physics lessons with graduate student researchers, designed for high school students to inquire into the physical properties of water and surfactants. Lesson 3 introduces an engineering challenge. Keywords: Water; Surfactant (surface active agent); Hydrogen bonds; Surface tension; Polar and non-polar molecules; Cause and effect; Structure and function.
