A PowerPoint using images of flags from around the world and from history. Introduces the idea of connotations in poetry. Used as an introduction to the poem but could be adapted for more able student. Aligned with Common Core State Standard: RL.9-10.1, RL.9-10.4

An excellent visual aid and talking point to be used in conjunction with this poem and to be adapted for use in other areas - has usefulness for pupils of all abilities.
