About This Lesson
This is a set of 8 games for children to work around in pairs or small groups. There is a different activity at each station for them to have a go at and they record their answers on an activity sheet. The stations are: Parts of Speech; Alphabetical Order; Countdown; Word Breakdown; Quotation Marks; Apostrophes; Homophones and Conjunctions. My classes have really enjoyed these activities and it has been nice to see them so engaged and involved in their own learning. It’s also a good way to assess their understanding of each area.
Nice ideas. But are we really still using the colon-plus-dash symbol [:-] shown on page 2 of Grammar Games? Also, on page 1 there is an explanation of what to do with game 4. Word Breakdown, “…which is broken down into it’s constituent parts…” That should be “…its constituent parts…” Perhaps section 6. Apostrophes could have benefited from a test for this common error. DD.
