About This Lesson

Selected scenes from the 1949 film "All The King's Men" help illustrate abstract concepts of politics, populism and demagoguery. This lesson is one of many in “Portraits of America: Democracy on Film,” a free cinema literacy curriculum using classic movies to explore ideals and challenges of our democratic society. Thanks to generous funding from AFSCME, all materials are free of charge and can be downloaded at http://storyofmovies.org.
