About This Lesson
Kari Vigerstol connected with nature as a kid when she started running in the woods with her father. She believes that this connection with nature allowed her to calm down and focus on schoolwork and life in general. In college she pursued degrees in Environmental and Civil Engineering. Kari noticed the importance of water in everything that we do and this led her to specialize in water resources, which is the basis of her work as a freshwater scientist at The Nature Conservancy. Kari finds science fascinating because it helps to answer all of the big questions about life.
