I created this webquest so that students could better understand the state in which we live. Of course you don't need to live in NC to learn about NC so anyone could use this webquest to explore North Caolina. In the process of exploring the state; students are creating a 4 sided poster (attached to a shoebox) and a puzzle piece. For the puzzle piece; I outlined the state of NC on a large piece of paper; cut it in pieces (enough for everyone in class to have a piece to write facts and color on) and hung this on the wall.
