About This Lesson

Students will see numbers up to and including 20 as “10 and some more” and think about how to count, read, write and represent them.
Lesson goals for students:
1. Students will count numbers up to 20, count numbers between 10 and 20 and count forward and backward.
2. As students arrange their counters, they will begin to understand that building numbers between 10 and 20 is a process of ten and some more.
3. Students will learn the efficiency of counting with ten and some more.
