This is the second of four lessons in the unit, with this particular lesson focusing on even numbers. The purpose of this unit is to help students to determine the difference between even and odd numbers. Identifying even and odd numbers is an important skill that children will need throughout their math education. Standards

Determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an odd or even number of members, e.g., by pairing objects or counting them by 2s; write an equation to express an even number as a sum of two equal addends.
