These are two quick PowerPoint games that I've used as lesson starters and wrap up's when discussing atomic structure and the Periodic Table. The students have to work out the answers to the questions before the bar timer on the right disappears. The time gets shorter with every question. This works really well if you have mini-whiteboards or they can work in groups with some preprinted answers. Whichever; they have until the time runs out to hold up their answer. If they get it wrong; then they're out! It gets very competitive and I have found works well for what can be quite a dry topic.
