About This Lesson
This lesson begins with a review of plotting points on the coordinate plane. Students then connect their points to form a polygon, learning that you can plot not only points on the coordinate plane but whole polygons given the coordinates of the vertices. Students then review names for different polygons and learn the vocabulary to help them describe the sides of a polygon, namely horizontal, vertical and slanted. Students then work with a partner to plot several polygons and describe their sides. Aligned to Common Core State Standard: 6.G.3
