And all you need to know about light to follow along are the familiar, everyday properties of light: like light goes in a straight line, it bends when it goes into water, when it reflects off a mirror, the angle at which it hits the mirror is equal to the angle at which it leaves the mirror, light can be separated into colors, you can see beautiful colors on a puddle if there is a little bit of oil on it, a lens focuses light and so on.
