Questioning and prompting students to articulate their understanding of concepts and key ideas is an essential part of the teaching and learning process. This pamphlet offers techniques for helping students develop and utilize the science and engineering practices outlined in the Framework for K-12 Science Education: Practices, Crosscutting Concepts and Core Ideas (2012).
