About This Lesson
Reading Dinosaur Evidence is a free, six-page activity pack with student worksheets, evidence cards and teacher answers. A geological timeline and a size-and-uncertainty chart accompany the pack. Students order geological periods, compare approximate measurements, distinguish observations from interpretations, and develop a claim supported by evidence and a stated limitation.
English and Chinese versions are available without registration. The suggested learner age is 10–14, with a 45–60 minute core lesson that teachers can adapt. The resource page includes learning goals, classroom steps, sources and teaching permissions. Core PDF activities can be used offline. Illustrations are reconstructions rather than fossil photographs or scientific evidence.
Suggested classroom sequence:
1. Order the geological periods using the timeline.
2. Compare approximate dinosaur lengths and discuss uncertainty.
3. Sort observations and interpretations using the evidence cards.
4. Write a claim supported by evidence and one limitation.
5. Review responses using the teacher answers.
