About This Lesson

I play reading football with my students often to change up the pace of reading in the classroom. I find it engages all students; especially boys; as it has a bit of competition. I number the students and then break into teams (sometimes different each day for variety). Aligned to Common Core State Standard: RL.6.1

I found this to be a strategy that can be highly effective. Kids are always looking to have fun and what a better way to learn and not realize it!
