About This Lesson

These are PowerPoints and sheets used in lessons about gravitational pull; centriputal force; and eliptical orbits. Most lessons start with a "Do now" that students do as they enter. I should mention that there are running jokes about my dislike of dogs (sorry!). See more at www.mrsimonporter.wikispaces.com

Step/through, very easy to understand, will take out the centrapetal bit though! Thanks!

Although, as Mr Porter states, you will need to edit some of the slides I think this is a great/outstanding resource. The slide sequence that puts the kicked dog ( yes! ) into freefall is very good and will develop the concept as you explain it. Some good animated images to demonstrate geo-stationary and polar orbiting satellites are included at the end and I think this whole powerpoint covers the topic in a really accessible and pragmatic manner.
