About This Lesson

Have you ever thought about how your favorite pair of jeans came to be? The fabric everyone wears and loves is the focus of a fun program helping students understand the connection between seed and shirt.

Explore how denim “grows” from the cotton plant with the help of a whimsical cotton boll named Baxter as your guide. Students learn about the lifecycle of cotton, the many ways cotton is used, and the Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program, which transforms old cotton denim into new products.
