helpful not only for creative WRITING but also for teaching imagery, I think.

Powerpoint slides with examples of sensory language as though from a horror tale, followed by a task to describe flying close to sun from the viewpoint of Icarus. The examples in the instructional slides are unrelated to the performance task. Students would need to have access to the Icarus myth.
