About This Lesson

This animation shows the change in the current in a series circuit when more components (bulbs) are added. Voltmeters
are used to show that the total voltage in the circuit is the sum of the voltages across each of the bulbs. Notice that the bulbs get dimmer when the current through them and the voltage across them decreases.

In a 'real' circuit you would turn off the electricity before adding another bulb.
