Watch Kim Desmond, a Human Rights Advocate who started in grass roots nonprofits. She now works in city government at the Denver Office on Women and Families. There, she does gender equity work to empower and support women. Kim says one great part of her job was going back to her old school, connecting with the social worker and starting a girls program. She advises girls to always find and pursue their personal purpose, even as it changes throughout life. Girls should consider community counseling as a profession if they want to develop the skills to work and communicate with various types of people.
