About This Lesson
A source-literacy lesson that teaches students to tell a primary source from a headline about it, using historical documents from The Makor Project, the free online textbook of Jewish history and the history of antisemitism. Includes a printable handout on recognizing propaganda: the recurring shapes claims take, and three habits for testing them against sources. Works in social studies, ELA, and media-literacy units.
