In this lesson, students will learn about the history of segregation of blacks and whites in schools. They will be introduced to Ruby Bridges through a video and the book The Story of Ruby Bridges. Through discussions with the teacher and classmates, students will begin to gain an understanding of the importance of equal educational access to all.
