About This Lesson

The current COVID-19 Pandemic has caused a large and expanding number of deaths in the United States and abroad, while also requiring the implementation of social distancing measures, including lengthy school closures, that makes it increasingly difficult to provide bereavement support to grieving students in the usual ways we relied upon prior to the pandemic. The Coalition to Support Grieving Students was created to ensure that no child had to grieve alone – the free video-based and print resources can be used to meet this goal even during social distancing. This guidance will underscore some of the unique characteristics of grief during a pandemic and highlight resources on the Coalition to Support Grieving Student website for addressing these challenges.
